Introducing City Weekly's new layout and expanded editorial coverage -- City Weekly is completely redesigned.

City Weekly‘s redesign is yet another example of how we’ve continued to stay Utah’s premier entertainment newspaper and the largest independent publication in Utah.
With additional editorial content, expanded reviews and a clean modern layout the new City Weekly will continue feeding readers the needs of the ever growing alternative voice in the Wasatch Front.

Key new features include:
Expanded Dining Content: Second Helping, Review Bites, Word Of Mouth, Critics Pick, and Drink

Ted Sheffler, long time contributor, joins City Weekly‘s editorial staff as full time Dining Editor. With the departure of dining listings to online only, Ted Scheffler adds five new columns to the Dining Section.

A & E Essentials: Now with weekend updates and additional information on your must see and dos for the week.

Get Out: A new glimpse at outdoor recreation.

All New Music Features: Club Shots, Concert and Club Picks, Club Directory, Digital Jukebox

“As we frequently advocate to our advertisers and readers, we are getting more aggressive with our marketing in this slow economic environment with the goal of increased market awareness and strength as the economy rebounds. As part of this effort, we are introducing a complete redesign of our print product and our web site. The print product which debuted this week includes a completely fresh new look and feel, along with exciting additional editorial content and a move from comprehensive listings to more selected recommendations. A more robust and broad collection of listings will be available on our new website launching in the upcoming weeks.”

Jim Rizzi — Publisher

“With the launch in the Jan. 22 issue of our redesign, we hope to give readers a cleaner, updated and more organized look. We realize that much or our strength in the community depends on complete arts and entertainment listings and reviews, so we’ve added features to the Dining, Cinema and Music sections. We’re especially pleased to expand the ‘Essentials’ section — A&E events that our critics feel very strongly about recommending. ‘Essentials’ now includes weekend picks as well as weekday recommendations. Please let us know how you feel about the redesign by e-mailing to comments@cityweekly.net”

Holly Mullen — Editor

“My mission was to update the presentation of our content in print. We’ve added a greater amount of visual elements to draw in the reader. More pictures in Music Live and A & E Essentials that deliver a greater visual impact and interest.

It has been great to give our paper a fresh new look, but more importantly to add some very exciting new editorial content.”

Susan Kruithof — Art and Production Director
