San Antonio Current Appoints Hernan Rozemberg, Editor-in-Chief

Euclid Media Group has appointed Hernán Rozemberg as Editor-in-Chief of the San Antonio Current effective January 13, 2015. The appointment of Mr. Rozemberg, 41, currently Metro Editor of The Lafayette Journal & Courier, launches a new commitment to both print and digital platforms for the San Antonio Current.

“It’s a challenging time in today’s ever-changing media landscape,” Rozemberg said. “Yet The Current remains strong, still providing a vibrant, important voice for San Antonio.”

“Hernán is a beast,” said Michael Wagner, Publisher of San Antonio Current. “We are fired up to start 2015 with him leading our editorial team and driving our continuous audience growth.”

The move to the San Antonio Current marks a homecoming for Rozemberg, who previously lived and worked in the Alamo City for a decade. His first gig right out of college in Massachusetts was as a reporter for an alt-weekly publication.

“That experience convinced me that I made the right choice pursuing journalism,” Rozemberg stated. “I absolutely loved it and now, many grey hairs later, I still carry the same fire in the belly about this craft.”

Rozemberg is an award-winning journalist with nearly 20 years of multi-platform experience. He has worked for various publications across the country, including two metropolitan daily newspapers, including the San Antonio Express News, where he served as a Senior Writer covering immigration and border issues.

Rozemberg also dabbled in the broadcast and digital realms, with an emphasis on multi-media reporting. He served as a Senior Correspondent and Bureau Chief for Fronteras, a regional NPR network covering the Southwest. His next step involved directing a digital news operation as a Senior Editor at News Corp. in New York City, supervising a team of editors, producers and reporters.

Rozemberg holds a bachelor’s in Political Economy from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a master’s degree in International Relations from St. Mary’s University.
