Seven Days Launches Tablet App

Burlington, Vt. – Seven Days, Vermont’s free, independent weekly newspaper, is excited to announce the launch of its second digital application in the past six months.

Using the new Seven Days App, readers can now enjoy each week’s print issue in digital format using their iPad, iPhone or iPod touch. Once readers have tapped into the issue, they can browse by section: News & Opinion, Arts & Life, Food & Drink, Calendar, Classes, Music, Art, Movies, Fun Stuff and Classifieds.

On select pages, readers will see a small icon in the upper right-hand corner that says, “flip for latest news” and “flip for web content.” This indicator invites subscribers to rotate their device for supplementary digital content including videos, blog updates, reader surveys, contests and promotions. Subscribers can also share pages and articles via email or their social networks.

The Seven Days App is now available as a free download in the App Store. Once installed, recent issues are available in the user’s Newsstand app alongside other subscription titles such as the New York Times. Each Wednesday, the latest issue of the newspaper will be available for download via the Newsstand.

“It’s been a pleasure to experience Seven Days on my iPad each week,” says creative director Don Eggert, who managed the app projects. “The pages really come to life. It’s easy to read articles, and the entire newspaper is right there — even the ads! Although the screen is smaller, I find myself using the iPhone version to read articles while I’m waiting in line. I like having Seven Days on my iPhone with the rest of my life.”

To download the Seven Days App, visit sevendaysvt.com on your iOS device and tap the download link at the top of the page. At this time, the app is only available for iOS devices. An Android version of the Seven Days App is forthcoming. For information about all of Seven Days’ mobile apps, visit http://sevendaysvt.com/apps.

In 2000, the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce selected then-5-year-old Seven Days as Business of the Year. Eight years later, the Burlington Business Association did the same, citing the company’s exemplary business practices, contributions to the community, and promotion of a positive image for Burlington, as well as business success.
