Hour Magazine Publisher Denies Rumors of Paper’s Closing

The publisher of former AAN member Hour Magazine attempted to squash rumors that the Montreal-based publication is closing down.

Referring to the scuttlebutt as, "a Facebook thing," Pierre Paquet told the Montreal Gazette, "It's none of anybody's business. It's internal.":

When asked if any staff members had been laid off, Paquet said: "It's possible. It's not public."

"We're replacing a couple of staff" and "we've revised our content," Paquet said.

Asked if the paper would continue to hire freelancers, Paquet said: "I don't know … I don't control the market."
